This is a modern and spectacular Cattleya hybrid, between C. Cruella x Rlc. Ilha Santa Maria. It is prized for its large, vibrant, and fragrant flowers that often display intense sunset colors with dramatic ruffled lips, though flowering characteristics can vary between individual plants of the same cross.
- Light: Requires bright, indirect light. Provide a south or west-facing window with some curtain filtering. Foliage should be a light, apple-green color to ensure blooming.
- Temperature: Prefers warm days of 70–85°F (21–29°C) and significantly cooler nights of 55–65°F (13–18°C). This night-time drop is essential for flower production.
- Humidity: Moderate to high (50–70%). Ensure excellent air movement to prevent spotting or fungal issues, especially when humidity is high.
- Watering: Water thoroughly, then allow the potting medium to dry out completely before watering again. As a thick-stemmed orchid, it tolerates slight dryness better than being constantly wet.
Additional Notes
Features large, striking flowers up to 7" wide, often fragrant with broad, ruffled petals and lips. The plant demonstrates vigorous growth under appropriate lighting conditions.
